In order to use all functions of pm. you need to have a Java Runtime Environment of Oracle version 1.6 installed on your computer. For all older versions (or the new version 1.7) we cannot ensure proper working with pm. For validation if you have a current version of Java installed please use our

PDF download System Check

If the System Check was successful, a current Java version is already installed on your computer and usually no further settings are required.

Alternatively you can check Java using the following link:
PDF download http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

After a short validation your Java version is displayed and if required you get a note to update your version. Pay attention on the version. You need to have version 6 (this is equal to the required version 1.6).

If you have not yet installed Java or have an older version than 1.6, you can download Java at java.com. For the installation you have 2 options:

Link Option 1 - Online Installation (only Windows users):

  1. Open the website PDF download www.java.com/en/
  2. Click on Select "Free Java Download".
  3. Follow the notes and installation instructions on the next page and start the installation with the "Free Java Download" button.
  4. You can find a detailed instruction manual PDF download here.

Link Option 2 - Offline Installation: Download an installation file to your computer first:

  2. Check whether Java is activated in the addons of your browser.

As Apple doesn't provide this version for MAC OS X 10.4 and 10.5 you cannot use Java with these operation systems of Apple. In this case you have to update to MAC OS X 10.6
